1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains how AfricaDecides, a product of Executive captionz Limited, handles refunds for paid votes, tickets, event registrations and other fee-based services on the Platform.
2. General principle
All payments on the Platform are made to support an organiser’s project or to purchase an event ticket. Refunds are generally issued at the organiser’s discretion and processed according to this policy, unless a specific project or event has its own refund rules clearly displayed at the point of purchase.
3. Paid votes
Paid votes are non-refundable once a contest has opened for voting and the transaction has been successfully confirmed. If a technical failure causes a payment to be deducted without the vote being recorded, we will investigate and either apply the vote or refund the amount within 5 business days.
If a competition is cancelled by the organiser before voting begins, voters may be refunded in full minus any payment processing fees.
4. Event tickets
Event tickets are refundable only if the event is cancelled, postponed or rescheduled by the organiser. Refunds are not provided for change of mind, unless the organiser explicitly offers a cooling-off period on the event page.
In the case of cancellation, refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7–14 business days. Service and payment processing fees may be deducted unless the organiser chooses to absorb them.
5. Organiser fees and payouts
Organiser subscriptions, feature fees and other platform charges are non-refundable unless a service was not delivered as described. Payout requests are subject to verification and our standard commission structure before release.
6. Disputed transactions
If you believe a charge was unauthorised or made in error, contact us at hello@africadecides.test within 30 days of the transaction. We may require proof of the issue. Chargebacks made without first contacting us may result in account suspension.
7. Processing time
Approved refunds are processed within 7–14 business days. The exact timing depends on the payment method and mobile money network. Mobile Money refunds are typically faster than card refunds.
8. Exceptions
We reserve the right to refuse refunds where fraud, abuse or violation of our Terms of Use is suspected. We may also withhold refunds pending the outcome of an investigation.
