How voting works on AfricaDecides competitions.

How do I vote for a contestant?

Open a competition, pick the contestant you want to support, and buy a boost. Each boost is a counted vote and appears on the live leaderboard instantly. You can pay with MTN MoMo, Airtel Money or card.

How much does a vote cost?

Boosts start at UGX 1,000. You can buy as many as you like for a contestant — there's no cap on paid boosts.

Why can't I see my vote on the leaderboard?

Leaderboards update live. If your boost isn't showing, refresh the page. If you didn't get a payment confirmation, the boost didn't go through — check your Mobile Money receipt.

What payment methods can I use?

MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, Visa and Mastercard. You'll be prompted to choose at checkout.

How do organisers get paid?

Organisers keep 70% of paid voting and livestream revenue. They request a payout to Mobile Money from their dashboard; it's reviewed and sent, with a small processing fee of UGX 1,200–5,000 per withdrawal.

Where is my ticket?

After payment, your QR ticket appears in your account under My tickets and is emailed to you. Show the QR at the gate for scanning.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets and boosts are generally non-refundable once issued. If an event is cancelled by the organiser, contact support and we'll help resolve it.
