The Pearlwood Film Awards 2026, under the theme “The Rising Pearl: Igniting the Next Generation of African Storytellers,” is more than a celebration of high school films. It is a national platform bringing Uganda’s emerging storytellers—particularly young people in schools—out of the classroom and onto the screen, where their talent can be seen, tested, celebrated and connected to real audiences.
